Iceland used its address to the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday to criticise Russia’s war in Ukraine, saying Moscow had invaded a sovereign neighbour and sought to change borders by force, while reaffirming Iceland’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Iceland also condemned continued civilian suffering in Gaza and settlement activity in the West Bank, and called for a viable Palestinian state alongside Israel.
