Pope Leo XIV prepared to celebrate a large open-air Mass at Paris’ Place de la Concorde on Saturday, with more than 600,000 people registered to attend and crowds expected to extend onto the nearby Champs-Élysées. French authorities imposed road closures and extensive crowd-control measures across central Paris, deploying about 14,000 police officers, including anti-drone teams, for the event. Organizers said the central location was selected because it was the only site in the area capable of accommodating the expected crowds. The choice has drawn criticism from supporters of France’s strict secular tradition because the square is closely associated with the French Republic and was a major execution site during the French Revolution. #popeleo #popeleoXIV #pope #paris #france #papalmass #placedeconcorde #catholic #vatican #popeleoXIVparis #parisnews #francenews #champselysees #breakingnews #worldnews In this Times Now World News report, we break down the this topic: Stay connect
