Every 100 minutes, Louisiana loses a football field of land to open water. Since the 1930s, the state has lost almost 2,000 square miles, an area the size of Delaware. And the process isn't slowing down. What's causing it isn't natural. It comes from a decision made decades ago. By 2050, Louisiana is projected to lead the country in land lost to flooding.
