Russian FM Backs India And Brazil For UN Security Council, Lavrov WARNS Against Europe Militarism

Russia is escalating its criticism of the West as Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declares that the Global South and East are emerging as sovereign centers of power and development. Lavrov accused the “Western minority” of trying to preserve its influence and impose its rules on other countries, while invoking President Vladimir Putin’s warnings about the dangers of a single hegemon. Lavrov also condemned U.S. actions involving Venezuela, called for the release of Nicolás Maduro, and criticized Western policy toward Iran, Palestine, Serbia, Kosovo and Ukraine.
