A man convicted of using AI to create sexual images from photographs of women and girls was jailed for two years and four months. Before sentencing, Zafer Dogan had repeatedly been granted bail back to his flat despite objections from police and prosecutors. After the hearing, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley publicly criticised the bail decisions, saying they had left victims fearful. The case has renewed scrutiny of how courts assess risk while prisons remain under pressure. Former Met detective Peter Bleksley backs Rowley’s decision to speak out and says the case exposes wider problems in the justice system.
