There are "holy and unholy alliances" emerging in the world, Finland's president, Alexander Stubb, says. "When Russia attacked Ukraine, the Finnish public decided, okay, we need to join NATO," he told Compass Points host Nick Schifrin. "So that's a diversification. Then we decided, okay, we want to do a defense cooperation agreement with the United States. That's a diversification. Then we sell 11 icebreakers to the United States. That's a diversification for the U.S." Compass Points from PBS News analyzes prominent international affairs topics and America’s role in a shifting world, breaking down global conflicts, rising tensions, and their implications for U.S. interests.
