British police arrested five men near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on Sunday after three suspicious vehicles were reported travelling towards the U.S.-used air base. Gloucestershire Police said the men were arrested in the nearby Whelford area on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act. A 400-metre cordon was established while the Army’s explosive ordnance disposal unit examined the vehicles, and around 85 households were advised to evacuate as a precaution. Police said they were working closely with counter-terrorism authorities, but had not established a link between the incident and RAF Fairford. Prime Minister Andy Burnham was receiving updates as the investigation continued. #uk, #britain, #rafairford, #fairford, #usairbase, #usairforce, #ukpolice, #counterterrorism, #terrorprobe, #securityalert, #securityscare, #explosives, #bombsquad, #bombdisposal, #breakingnews, #worldnews, #europe, #geopolitics In this Times Now World News report, we break down the this topic:
