Five men have been arrested in Gloucestershire on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act after police received a report of three suspicious vehicles travelling towards RAF Fairford, authorities said on Sunday. Armed officers were deployed around the airbase and initially arrested the men on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act before making further arrests on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act. Counter Terrorism Policing is leading the investigation, with all five remaining in custody. Police have not identified a motive or confirmed any connection between the incident and RAF Fairford’s use by U.S. forces for specific defensive operations involving Iran. Gloucestershire Police urged the public not to speculate and to rely on official information while inquiries continue. #raffairford, #fairford, #uk, #uknews, #terrorprobe, #terrorism, #terrorinvestigation, #counterterrorism, #armedpolice, #gloucestershire, #police, #securityalert, #airbase, #raf, #britain, #uksecurity,
