Matthew Devine, a 53-year-old surfer, was rammed by a suspected bull shark at Cabarita Beach on the New South Wales-Queensland border, throwing him off his board into the water before he paddled safely to shore. The incident marks the third shark encounter at Cabarita Beach in 15 months, following a mauling of a 16-year-old boy in June last year and another surfer's board being bitten two months later. Despite the close call, Devine says he plans to return to surfing within days.
