Counter-terrorism police are investigating whether a terror plot near RAF Fairford is linked to Iran. We understand that one line of inquiry is whether representatives of the Iranian regime paid others to carry out the plot on their behalf. Five men were arrested on suspicion of explosive and terrorism offences after armed police stopped three vans in the early hours of Sunday. Former Conservative cabinet minister Lord Michael Gove, the Mirror’s Kevin Maguire and former counter-terrorism chief Chris Phillips discuss what the investigation could mean and the possible links to Iran.
