Five men were arrested near RAF Fairford after police received a report of three suspicious vehicles travelling towards the airbase. Counter Terrorism Policing is leading the investigation, and residents in nearby Whelford were evacuated while specialist teams examined the vehicles. A local farmer has described spotting vans and men near her home and raising the alarm. Her account has prompted questions about the sequence of calls to police, the response at the airbase and the timing of the evacuation. The discussion also covers proposals to reopen refugee resettlement routes and Andy Burnham’s plan for a national care service. Julia Hartley-Brewer speaks with Claire Pearsall, former Home Office special adviser to the immigration minister. Have you got a story?
