Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly made another discreet trip to Abu Dhabi for a meeting with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed, also known as MBZ. The reported visit comes at a particularly sensitive moment, as fresh reports have revived questions about whether the UAE warned Israel about a possible Hamas attack before October 7, 2023. According to reports citing Emirati sources and Israeli investigations, UAE intelligence allegedly passed information about a planned Hamas operation to Israeli officials, with claims that MBZ later communicated directly with Netanyahu. Netanyahu has denied receiving such a warning and has rejected the allegations. The latest Abu Dhabi meeting also puts renewed focus on the evolving Israel-UAE relationship. From the Abraham Accords and growing security cooperation to Israel’s reported deployment of Iron Dome systems during the Iran conflict, the relationship has taken on an increasingly important regional-security dimension.
