What if the biggest thing stopping you from living your life isn't a lack of opportunity, but the belief that you'll be ready later? Eshanika Dinesh explores how our brains constantly predict the future, often convincing us to postpone action until the "perfect" moment arrives. Drawing on psychology and neuroscience, she reveals why waiting can become a trap and why the life we're hoping for may begin the moment we stop putting it off. Eshanika is fascinated by understanding why people think, feel, and act the way they do. As a Year 12 student navigating the pressures of academic achievement, life after school, and the expectations that often come with growing up, she has developed a deep appreciation for the importance of living in the present moment. Calm, reflective, and joyful by nature, Eshanika enjoys exploring creativity through arts and crafts and has spent many years playing the violin. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organ
