According to The Wall Street Journal, Egypt’s intelligence chief personally called Netanyahu to warn about signs that Hamas was planning an impending attack from Gaza. As the Journal reports, the call was "one of multiple advance warnings Netanyahu and other Israeli officials received before the attack" including two other warnings from Egypt.
