Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley confronts Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent over President Donald Trump’s timeline for the Iran war during a heated congressional hearing. When Bessent says he does not recall how long Trump said the conflict would last, Pressley fires back: ‘I’ll jog your memory’ before reminding him that Trump had predicted four to five weeks, while she says six months had already passed. The exchange quickly turns into a broader confrontation over the economic consequences of the conflict, with Pressley pressing Bessent on rising gas prices, household costs and previous commitments made before Congress. Bessent repeatedly pushes back on her figures, while Pressley argues that the administration is failing to acknowledge the economic pressure facing American families. #congress #uspolitics #trump #donaldtrump #trumpadministration #congresshearing #congresslive #senate #democrats #republicans #politicalnews #usnews #breakingnews #livenews #trumplive #ScottBessent #Trum
