Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has threatened to execute jailed Hamas figure Hassan Salameh during a confrontation inside an Israeli prison cell. Video released by Ben-Gvir’s office shows the minister standing over Salameh alongside armed and masked prison guards, telling the prisoner that he wants to kill and execute him and claiming responsibility for the conditions imposed on him. Salameh was convicted by an Israeli military court over his alleged role in deadly 1996 suicide attacks in Jerusalem and is serving multiple life sentences. The confrontation comes months after Israel’s Knesset approved a death-penalty law for certain terrorism cases. The legislation was approved in March and formally entered into force in April 2026. Ben-Gvir has separately said he would seek the defence portfolio and push for executions of Palestinian prisoners. #israel #palestine #gaza #hamas #bengvir #itamarbengvir #hassansalameh #israelhamaswar #middleeast #israelnews #palestinene
