A powerful nor’easter has battered the US East Coast, unleashing torrential rain, powerful winds, coastal flooding and widespread travel chaos. New York and New Jersey saw flooded streets, submerged cars, damaged homes, downed trees and power outages, while residents in Queens turned to kayaks to navigate rising floodwaters. The storm also disrupted flights across the Northeast and caused major damage along coastal communities.
