“We've gone within 48 hours from a potential international terrorist event, to the suspects being released on bail and for the cordon being relaxed and people being allowed home.” Local residents near RAF Fairford return home following a major 48-hour security evacuation, but residents remain “confused” over the incident’s “incredibly fast escalation and an incredibly fast de-escalation” says Liberal Democrat Councillor for Lechlade, Kempsford & Fairford South, Tristan Wilkinson. Tristan Wilkinson and Duncan Gardham were speaking to Kait Borsay on The Evening Edition on Times Radio. Listen live every Monday to Thursday, 7–10pm.
