The direction of economic travel was signposted today by the chancellor, John Healey, in his first conference in the job. He sat down with Economics Editor Joel Hills who asked him whether he will intervene on the record price of diesel. In the Channel, a 10-year-old child and two women have died after they were “likely crushed” in a dinghy while attempting to cross. French authorities said 105 people on board the “precarious” migrant dinghy were rescued after calling for assistance at sea. A medical team was transported to the rescue boat by helicopter to help the survivors, but the child and two women, who were in their 30s, could not be saved. Plus, Burnham has announced he will nationalise Avanti West Coast as Euston to get £50 million upgrade. • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://w
