Five men arrested near RAF Fairford on suspicion of explosives offences and preparing a terrorist act have been released on police bail. Counter Terrorism Policing says they remain under investigation and face strict conditions on their movement and contact with others. The arrests followed a report of three suspicious vehicles near the airbase. Investigators are examining multiple lines of enquiry, including whether anyone may have acted on behalf of a foreign state, but have not established a motive or publicly identified who, if anyone, directed the activity. Security specialist Will Geddes argues that the incident could have been a dry run and sets out why he considers an Iranian link possible. He also explains why he doubts suggestions that the men were simply attempting to steal diesel. Peter Cardwell speaks with Will Geddes, security specialist. Have you got a story?
