Mark Carney is escalating tensions with the United States, raising the possibility of an American invasion while looking to China and the European Union as alternatives to Canada’s traditional relationship with its closest ally. Victor Davis Hanson argues that Canada remains deeply dependent on the United States for trade, defense, and economic stability, and that turning away from that relationship will not solve the country’s larger problems. He also looks at Canada’s immigration, energy, defense, and economic policies and how its leaders brought the country to this point.
