The Australian Transport Safety Bureau, on Wednesday, released preliminary reports into recent “near miss” incidents at Sydney Airport. "While air traffic control involvement in each occurrence is still being examined, we can say based on information detailed in our preliminary reports that staff resourcing within Sydney Tower at the time of many of the occurrences has emerged as a recurring area of enquiry," ATSB Chief Commissioner Angus Mitchell said. The ATSB stresses it has yet to determine whether staff resourcing factors directly contributed to any occurrence. Air traffic controller and Civil Air Union President Scott Nugent explains what happens inside the high-stakes control tower. #atsb #sydneyairport #airtrafficcontrol #aviationsafety #civilairunion #planes
