Five men arrested near RAF Fairford on suspicion of explosives offences and preparing a terrorist act have been released on police bail while the investigation continues. Counter Terrorism Policing says they remain subject to strict conditions. Police have since confirmed that no improvised explosive devices were found in the three vehicles examined, although a quantity of petrol was recovered. Donald Trump questioned the decision to release the men. The discussion also turns to England and Wales’s early prison release changes, due to begin on 1 October, and concerns about the safety of domestic abuse victims whose perpetrators may be eligible. Kavanagh agrees with Trump’s criticism of the bail decision and questions whether the justice system is protecting the right people.
