Seven months after Iran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz — disrupting a fifth of the world's oil supply — the UAE has launched its most ambitious infrastructure plan ever. Called Zero Hormuz, the strategy is being driven by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan through L'imad, a $300 billion sovereign wealth fund. The plan involves tens of billions in new ports, pipelines and logistics infrastructure centred on Fujairah — a port city outside the strait entirely. We explain the plan, the players and whether it can actually work. Cary Johnston brings you the details on Firstpost America. Also on the show: -240% Hate Surge!
