France has seen students protesting across the country as anger over allegedly poor school conditions spilled onto the streets. Hundreds have been detained too. Students are angry over timetables, class sizes and teachers’ shortages. Anger shared by other unions who also complain about the budget set to be presented by the national government later this week. DW’s Gerhard Elfers speaks to journalist Catherine Field about what’s behind this anger and if the government has a solution.
