At least 700 prisoners are set to be released early today, some having only served a third of their sentence. Good Morning Britain's Jonathan Swain speaks to one former prisoner released today from HMP Fosse Way in Leicestershire. The government says the early release scheme is necessary to create capacity in overcrowded jails, but victims say it's a 'kick in the teeth' after pursuing justice. Rape, serious child sex, and grooming offences are excluded, alongside more serious sentences, but domestic abusers and some sex offenders could be eligible. Treasury minister James Murray tells Kate and Richard that "no options are good options" and that offenders would be monitored under the tough supervision.
