As the partial government shutdown enters day 40, airports across the United States are facing hourslong lines with wait times that are now the longest in TSA history. The acting TSA administrator says many officers are struggling to support their families. “Some are sleeping in their cars, selling their blood and plasma and taking on second jobs to make ends meet,” she said. It comes as the Transportation Secretary warns things could get worse.
