In this video, Firstpost explains why French high school students are protesting across the country. Demonstrations have spread from the Paris region to cities including Lille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Rennes, Nantes and Marseille, with students demanding more teachers, better school buildings, shorter school days and improved learning conditions. The protests have also seen clashes with police, vandalism and school blockades. More than 600 people were detained on September 30, while dozens of police officers and students have been injured. The protests come as France prepares its 2027 budget and faces pressure to cut public spending. So, what is driving the protests? Daniela Laurel brings you all the details on Firstpost America.
