Reform UK leader Nigel Farage used his full Doncaster speech to challenge Prime Minister Andy Burnham over Britain’s future relationship with the European Union and plans for a National Care Service. Farage accused Burnham of reopening the Brexit debate and argued that changes to the pension triple lock would help fund a care system he said would mean “higher taxes and less efficiency.” Burnham has said Britain should consider multiple long-term EU options, including closer ties or eventual rejoining, while proposing changes to the triple lock from 2030 to help fund social care.
