South Korean President Lee Jae Myung warned that Seoul could take “further measures” if Ukraine refuses to publicly apologise over its disclosure of the transfer of two North Korean prisoners of war captured while fighting alongside Russian forces in Ukraine. Seoul says the transfer had been subject to a clear understanding that it would remain confidential to protect the soldiers’ relatives in North Korea. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha described the dispute as a “diplomatic misunderstanding”, while South Korean intelligence has reportedly suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may have disclosed the transfer to encourage public support for South Korea providing arms to Ukraine. The dispute comes as Seoul continues to withhold lethal weapons from Kyiv despite its growing role as a global arms exporter. #southkorea, #ukraine, #zelensky, #northkorea, #northkoreanpow, #russiaukrainewar, #ukrainewar, #leejaemyung, #geopolitics, #internationalnews, #worldnews, #di
