Dan Brouillette, Former Secretary of Energy during the first Trump administration and Co-chair of the Torridon Group, says a US diesel export ban would be a “bad idea” because it could eventually force refiners to cut production and raise gasoline prices. Brouillette thinks constrained US refining capacity is contributing to diesel scarcity and remains a longer-term infrastructure problem.
