Senator Patty Murray sharply criticized President Donald Trump over his “pocket rescission” plan to cancel more than $800 million in funding approved by Congress. Murray accused the Trump administration of illegally withholding funding for health research, housing, education and other programs, and urged Republicans to act. The remarks come after the Government Accountability Office concluded that Trump’s latest attempt to impound congressionally approved funding was illegal. Murray and Senator Jeff Merkley also sought to pass legislation aimed at blocking future pocket rescissions, but Republicans blocked the bill. Watch Patty Murray’s full remarks on Trump, pocket rescissions, Congress’ power of the purse, taxpayer funding and the growing Senate fight over federal spending. #PattyMurray #DonaldTrump #Trump #PocketRescission #TrumpFunding #Congress #Senate #GAO #FederalFunding #TaxpayerMoney #USPolitics #AmericanPolitics #TrumpNews #PoliticalNews #BreakingNews Also Read Tru
