A death row inmate in Tennessee was left in a critical condition and received “lifesaving care” at hospital following a failed attempt to execute her, lawyers have said. Christa Pike, 50, who was sentenced to death for a 1995 murder, was taken to a hospital Wednesday night after surviving a double dose of the drug Tennessee uses to execute prisoners. “We don’t have a sense of her prognosis or much update on her health at the moment. But we know she is alive right now," attorney Randy Spivey said during a news conference on Thursday. • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@itvnews?lang=en Follow ITV News on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on X: https://twitter.com/itvnews
