Gypsy Rose Blanchard met Ken Urker when she was serving time for killing her mother. The pair became penpals, which then progressed to a romantic relationship. When Gypsy was released from prison, she and Ken were ready to start their life in the outside world. When 60 Minutes visited Gypsy and Ken in 2024, they were preparing to welcome their daughter, Aurora. Both of them talked about their dreams for their future family - those that weren't afforded to Gypsy when she was a child. On his birthday in October 2026 at the age of 33, Ken Urker died after he was found unresponsive at his home. At the time of his death, Gypsy and Ken had been separated but they were co-parenting their daughter.
