Typical bench heights range from 19" up to 26" It really depends on what is comfortable to you π In this shower I am framing bench with 2 x 4s and 3/4" plywood. The rough framing height will be 19". Once the solid surface top is installed along with the waterproofing, it'll sit about 21" off shower floor Couple of tips on framing a shower bench: 1. If in an alcove like this, be sure to leave from from edge of partition wall. You need room for overhang of shower bench top. I typically recommend 1 1/2" - 2" of room 2. Account for the overhang of shower bench top. If the top is 16" in depth, make the rough framing 14". This way once you have tile and backer board you'll have a 1' overhang on top 3. Be sure to pitch the bench top. You want water to run off shower bench into shower 4. If building a bench over concrete, consider using 2" foam board. πCheck out this video using Hydroblok Waterproofing https://youtu.be/3KUyZNb13fM πAlso check out this video on a folding shower bench
