FlyDubai pilot Captain Smit Machchhar told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he knew he had to get back on his feet to save everyone on board his plane, after being stabbed by his co-pilot. Machchhar was seriously injured in the attack on September 30th, which saw the aircraft plunge into a steep descent. He has been hailed a hero after he managed to open the cockpit door, allowing passengers to enter and restrain the attacker as the Boeing 737 descended sharply, witnesses and Israeli authorities said. • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@itvnews?lang=en Follow ITV News on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on X: https://twitter.com/itvnews
