French police dispersed student protesters in Montpellier on Friday as demonstrations over education funding, staffing and school conditions spread across the country. Footage showed officers monitoring crowds, arresting protesters and clearing a school blockade as students gathered with smoke flares. Student union spokesperson Kais Aittadi said protesters were demanding normal learning conditions, citing classes of up to 40 students and classrooms reaching 40 degrees Celsius. He also linked school funding and infrastructure concerns to climate change. France's Education Minister Edouard Geffray said more than 400 schools were closed nationwide on Friday, while five Montpellier high schools shifted to remote learning amid safety concerns. #france #franceprotests #montpellier #studentprotests #educationprotests #educationcrisis #frenchschools #schoolprotests #police #protests #educationfunding #climatechange #frenchpolitics #schoolblockade #europe #europeprotests #studentunrest #breaki
