Tensions between Russia and Germany are rising after Russian border guards detained the German-operated cargo ship Västerbotten in the Gulf of Finland. The Cyprus-flagged vessel was sailing from Sweden to Estonia when it entered Russian territorial waters and was held for several hours for inspection before being allowed to continue. Estonia says Russia has the right to inspect vessels in its waters but has now rerouted ships to avoid similar incidents. The detention comes amid a wider European crackdown on Russia’s so-called shadow fleet and previous warnings from Vladimir Putin over Western commercial shipping. #russia #germany #vasterbotten #gulfoffinland #putin #germanshipping #russiagermany #estonia #finland #russiannavy #russianborderguards #shippingcrisis #shadowfleet #russiaeurope #balticsea #europe #russianews #germanyrussia Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
