US President Donald Trump has defended his announcement involving South Korea and the Alaska LNG project after Seoul said its participation has not yet been finalized. Asked whether he had “jumped the gun,” Trump replied, “I didn’t jump the gun,” before saying South Korea could be charged more if it chose not to proceed. He later added that if Seoul did not sign soon, he could “double it up.” The exchange comes amid differing accounts over South Korea’s proposed participation in the Alaska LNG project, which has been discussed as part of a broader US-South Korea investment framework.
