President Donald Trump has intensified his attacks on Texas Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico, claiming that Talarico is a vegan and arguing that “you can’t get elected as a vegan in Texas.” However, reports and fact-checking indicate that Talarico is not a vegan and has repeatedly rejected the label, with his campaign pointing to photos and videos showing him eating meat at public events. The controversy stems partly from a 2022 fundraiser where Talarico discussed his campaign purchasing non-meat, vegan-friendly products. Trump, along with Texas Republicans including Governor Greg Abbott and Senator Ted Cruz, has used the issue as part of broader attacks on Talarico. Trump has also endorsed Republican candidate Ken Paxton in the closely watched Texas Senate race, while criticizing Talarico in strong terms. The dispute highlights the increasingly heated political battle surrounding the Texas Senate contest. #Trump #JamesTalarico #Talarico #TexasSenate #TexasPolitics #T
