The ozone hole was once one of the most frightening environmental threats on Earth. Then most people stopped hearing about it. But the measurements never stopped. In 2025, the Antarctic ozone hole ranked as the fifth smallest since 1992 and began breaking apart nearly three weeks earlier than the recent average. That does not mean the problem is over but it is evidence of a decades-long recovery that scientists have been waiting to see. In this documentary, we trace the story from the first alarming measurements over Antarctica to CFCs, chlorine chemistry, the Montreal Protocol and NASA’s simulation of the world we narrowly avoided. We also look at why recovery will still take decades, how illegal CFC emissions were detected, and why one good year does not prove the ozone hole is gone. This is the story of an environmental crisis humanity actually started to reverse. -- DISCUSSIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA Commercial Purposes: insanecuriositybusiness@gmail.com Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@
