The U.S. Navy Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) anchored off Thailand's resort island of Phuket on Sunday morning, October 4, 2026, for a scheduled rest-and-recreation break. Carrying approximately 4,800 personnel aboard, the carrier arrived in Southeast Asia following months of operations supporting U.S. missions in the Middle East and Arabian Sea. Crew members are set to come ashore through Phuket Deep Sea Port to spend time across the island through October 9, delivering a significant boost to the local tourism economy. The visit comes just weeks after the USS Abraham Lincoln completed a port call in Laem Chabang, which injected nearly 100 million baht (US$3 million) into local businesses. #USNavy #USSGeorgeHWBush #Phuket #Thailand #MilitaryPortCall #IndoPacific #MiddleEastDeployment #Reuters #WorldNews USN: ADOSWF388 ---------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to DRM News – your go-to source for breaking news and expert anal
