When did having a child become a one-way ticket to a "black hole of parenthood"? Magazine editor and comedian Stacey McLachlan breaks down the rise of parental isolation and makes a hilariously sharp case for why we desperately need to stop shunning children from adult social environments, for the benefit of parents and non-parents alike. Stacey McLachlan is an award-winning writer and magazine editor who lives and breathes the culture of Vancouver. As the Editor-in-Chief of Vancouver Magazine and a Senior Editor for Western Living, she spends her days covering everything from design to food to travel, while sharing stories about the most interesting people this region has to offer. On the side, Stacey is also a talented comedy performer and producer. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
