Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva cast his vote on Sunday, October 4, 2026, in São Paulo during Brazil's general election, describing the high-stakes presidential contest as a choice between "strengthening democracy or barbarism." Addressing reporters after voting alongside allies, including Fernando Haddad, Marina Silva, and Simone Tebet, Lula expressed confidence in his campaign while emphasizing the critical decisions facing the nation—from judicial reform and education investments to industrial development and economic governance. Dismissing conflicting last-minute opinion polls, Lula insisted that the true poll occurs when the ballot boxes close at 5:00 PM. He outlined key priorities for a potential next term, including establishing fixed term limits for Supreme Court (STF) justices, promoting greater gender representation in public office, expanding technical education, and protecting national mineral and energy resources through local industrial processing. #Brazil
