Scientists found evidence of a strange “wall” at the edge of our Solar System — but it isn’t a solid barrier. Far beyond Pluto, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 crossed the heliopause, the boundary where the Sun’s heliosphere meets interstellar space. What scientists discovered there was far more complicated than expected: unexpectedly hot plasma, strange particle structures, and evidence of heated hydrogen accumulating near the Solar System’s outer frontier. This region has become known as the Hydrogen Wall. But what creates the Hydrogen Wall? What did Voyager actually discover beyond the heliopause? And why do newer observations from New Horizons suggest that we still don’t fully understand the edge of the Solar System? In this video, we travel beyond Pluto and the Kuiper Belt to explore the heliosphere, Voyager’s journey into interstellar space, the mysterious IBEX Ribbon, the Hydrogen Wall, and NASA’s new efforts to map the boundary between our Solar System and the Milky Way. The farther we
