More than 2,000 runners and walkers raised over $1 million for pediatric care at the 10th annual CHEO RBC Race for the Kids at Wesley Clover Parks. CTV's Kimberley Johnson speaks with Gail Merrikin, whose two-year-old great-granddaughter Cassidy recently underwent cancer treatments and uses the hospital for a rare genetic condition. CHEO Foundation president Steve Read says the funds will go toward the hospital's redevelopment project, which includes a new integrated treatment centre set to open in 2028. The event, which has raised more than $5 million over its history, required 1,200 volunteer hours to organize.
