A FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after its co-pilot attacked the captain with a crash axe and tried to take control of the aircraft. Passengers and crew intervened and subdued him. UAE prosecutors have described the incident as an attempted terrorist attack. Investigators are examining the co-pilot’s motives and background, while questions have been raised about how he was cleared to work on the flight. Former Metropolitan Police detective Peter Bleksley argues that FlyDubai must answer for its pilot vetting and says the co-pilot should never have been in the cockpit. Have you got a story?
