When faced with challenging tasks, like studying AP Econ notes, how does one engage with the work in a way that encourages a state of flow. In this talk, Gloria Jeng describes losing herself in the flow of painting and then intentionally taking her curiosity for art and pouring that into her most challenging schoolwork. How can we take our understanding of the flow state and use it to face the work that feels hardest to do? Gloria Jeng was a senior at Chatham High School when she gave this talk. During her time at Chatham, she was captain of Chatham’s highly successful swim team and co-officer of her high school's Model United Nations club. Now, Gloria attends Rutgers Honors College, where she is studying Environmental Policy, Institutions and Behaviors. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
