Students are being urged to make sure they're vaccinated against meningitis, after an unprecedented outbreak in Kent earlier this year saw two young people lose their lives. And as our next guest knows, the disease can have devastating consequences. Just weeks after starting university in 2024, Hamish Wilson suddenly fell ill with meningitis, as well as pneumonia, Covid and life-threatening sepsis - which ultimately led to him losing both legs, one hand and several fingers. After bravely rebuilding his life and returning to university, Hamish joins us on World Meningitis Day alongside Dr Nighat to share his story - and the warning signs every student should know.
