Tension was reported outside a vote-counting centre in Tripura's Khowai district on October 5 during the counting of votes for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Village Committee elections. The incident took place at Champahour under the Tulashikhar RD Block, where supporters reportedly associated with Tipra Motha and CPI(M) had gathered. Central security personnel resorted to a lathi charge amid the crowd before the situation was brought under control following the intervention of local MDC Prasmit Debbarma and the arrival of state police officials.
